Craft and Bake Sale 2007 Craft and Bake Sale 2007 The Libraries Goodwill Committee exists to coordinate activities that promote goodwill and improve the morale among the staff. The Goodwill Committee will be composed of a representative from each library: Hornbake, EPSL, McKeldin, Art, Architecture, Performing Arts Library, Chemistry and a representative from each Division: Public Services, Technical Services, Collection Management, Planning and Administrative Services, and Information Technology for a total of 12 members. Officers will consist of: Chair, Gifts and Memorials Coordinator, Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations Coordinator. Please see the following page for the Duties of the Officers. Committee members serve for two years. Chair is recommended by committee member and appointed by LEC. Functions of the Goodwill Committee 1. Send an appropriate card in case of illness to any staff member out sick for more than one week and under the care of a physician. Send flowers and card to any staff member who has been hospitalized, as funds allow. 2. After consulting with staff or family member, provide suitable remembrance (flowers, plants, book "in memory of" or a donation requested "to be sent to" an organization, church, society foundation, or scholarship) in case of death of a library employee or member of the employee's immediate family. Immediate family shall consist of parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, or partner. 3. Send congratulations and gift certificates to new parent on staff. 4. Assist or provide library staff with refreshments for Libraries-wide special ceremonies and/or events, as the Committee deems appropriate. 5. Provide a cake and memory book for a retiree at his or her retirement celebration. 6. Coordinate volunteer services for staff members requiring assistance, according to the immediate needs of the particular staff; volunteer's own time will be used, not work time. 7. Additional items/activities will be discussed and decided upon by the Committee, taking into consideration budgetary concerns and the appropriateness of the request to the Committee's mission. 8.
