Minutes of the Good Will Committee
June 5, 2003

Members Present: Alla Balannik, Judy Dillon, Jennifer Evans, Johnnie Love, Jim Miller, Joan Morris, Deep Sarin, Lisa Wheeler
Members not Present: Chamisa Carson, Amrita Kaur, Evelyn Yocco
I. May 9, 2003 Awards-Recap
very positive response for the committee's participation. Will consider
doing next year.
II. Duties of Officers-Continue discussion and note on document
Discussed where a statement about the advisor should go. Decided it
should not go in the duties of officers statement but rather under the
representation section. Jennifer will send wording to Lisa, so it can
be mounted on the website.
Jennifer made a motion to accept the duties of officers as presented;
Jim seconded; motion passed unanimously. Will post on website.
III. Craft and Bake Sale
Joan passed out sample application form; committee discussed changes
that need to be made. Jennifer will make corrections and circulate for
comments. Committee set the time from 9-3 on December 4th. Need to get
the tables set up the night before. Joan had received an offer of twenty-four
plants for the sale. Committee decided they could not care for the plants
for six months until the sale. Lisa will do the schedule for the committee
staffing of the sale.
IV. Request for assistance with an upcoming project
Committee was asked to supply refreshments for the shelf list disposal
kickoff. After discussion, committee decided against request. Did not
feel request fit into the committee's mission or was a Libraries-wide
event. Judy will send out email to SPAT.
V. Welcome Luncheon-ideas for theme
September 15-October 15 is Hispanic Heritage month. Could focus on international
librarianship or ask the Spanish Special Libraries Association to present.
Members should continue to think about ideas for possible themes.
VI. Update on cards, flowers and gift certificates
Need to send gift to one new parent and to two people with deaths in
the family. Need to check into one other death to see what the relationship
is with staff member.
VII. Treasury Update
After expenditures and donations, balance is $642.89
