Goodwill CommitteeMinutesMinutes of the Goodwill Committee Minutes of the Goodwill Committee Present: Alla Balannik, Johnnie Love, Jim Miller, Joan Morris, AmbikaSankaran, Joan Stahl 1. Review Welcome Luncheon Supplies. We went through lists of supplies that Johnnie had compiled, and determined what can come from Facilities. Ambika will look for patriotic motif for cards and place mats, to go along with our Elections theme. She will also revise last year's flyer, including new graphics. Joan Stahl and Joan Morris will work on decorations, and get supplies from party store in Greenbelt. Possible ideas are straw hats, donkeys, elephants, and balloons. Joan Stahl will find out if Rebecca Wilson can make a large sign for an easel at the Special Events Room entrance. Johnnie will check with Government Documents about decorations for the wall cases, and streamers and flags for the window ledges. We will have a ballot box for fun elections, including favorite political books, movies, historical figures, etc. We will have CD player for music, and Jim agreed to do a performance of fiddle tunes. 2. Layout of Special Events Room. We reviewed last year's arrangement of tables, and will forward it to Facilities for room setup on the day before the luncheon. Jim will check with Bill Hess regarding the proper outlets to use with hot plates and microwaves. 3. Extra Food. Joan Morris will bring baked beans, beans and potatoes from CostCo. Johnnie Love will bring potato salad. 4. Library Matters and Flyers. We will check with Library Matters about including a color flyer in the Sept. 24 issue. The deadline is September 17th. We may distribute flyers with the checks on that Friday. 5. Next meeting: September 17, 2004 10-11am Final preparations for September 30 Welcome Luncheon. |
