Minutes of the Goodwill Committee

Present: Marian Dorsey, Johnnie Love, Jim Miller, Joan Morris, Deep Sarin, Joan Stahl
Absent: Alla Balannik, Chamisa Carson, Gerri Foudy, Ambika Sankaran

Roles: Facilitator: Johnnie, Notetaker: Jim

1. Craft & Bake Sale – Final Plans.

Facilities has tables ready for the December 2 Craft & Bake Sale. Joan Morris will get red and white table cloths from the work room. We also have sandwich bags and napkins from last year. There will be 6 vendor tables and a raffle table for donated items from the vendors. We will have little boxes next to raffle items, for people to place their tickets. The Committee will have a table for donations and for buying raffle tickets at the door. The raffle drawings and silent auction conclusion will be at 2:45pm. Committee members chose assignments for the Craft & Bake Sale:

  • Deep will bring samozas, Johnnie will bring hot cider and spice tea, Marian will bring cookies.
  • Joan Stahl will bring 30 packets of hyacinths and tulips with forcing instructions.
  • Alla and Johnnie will bring stickers for prices.
  • Joan Morris, Jim, and Johnnie will come at 7:00 for setup.

2. Raffle Tickets.

Tickets will be $1.00 each, or 6 for $5.00. Each vendor will donate to the raffle one item of at least $10.00 value. Our email asking people to buy raffle tickets will include a call for donation of baked goods

3. Goodwill Gifts and Memorials Pending.

Johnnie reported that 3 gifts are being prepared for sending. She noted that 3 staff members are retiring in the next few months.

4. GWC Changing Membership

We discussed members who are due to rotate off the committee. Those present agreed to stay on at least until June 2005.

5. Student Assistant Day 2005.

Ideas for celebrating Student Assistant Day included: coupons, gift certificates for the Dairy, mugs, monogrammed pencils, and donations to the Graduate Assistants' Fund.

6. Next meeting: Early 2005, to be decided via email.
