Roles: Facilitator: Johnnie, Notetaker: Jim

1. Review of Craft & Bake Sale

Proceeds of the December 2, 2004 Craft & Bake Sale were $834.65, compared to the December 4, 2003 income of $910.10. We noted that the 2003 income was helped significantly by the Diversity Committee's cookbook sales.

2. Goodwill Committee Income and Expenses.

Johnnie brought a printout of Committee income and expenses from 10/31/02 to present. The current balance is $961.33. We decided to increase the amount alloted for dish gardens and memorial gifts from $25 to $30, to allow for higher delivery costs. We will consider fund raising efforts at our next meeting, and Jim will check the Committee files for past fund raising flyers.

3. Membership Issues.

We have no representative from the Performing Arts Library. Lisa Warner in Personnel has been very helpful in sending gifts for the Committee, and may join officially.

4. Student Assistant Appreciation Day.

We discussed possible ways to contribute to the University's Student Appreciation Day, including candy packets, cookies, pizza lunch, certificates of appreciation, and allotment of GWC funds or gift certificates to various departments to offset the cost of separate department lunches.

5. Organizational and Cultural Diversity Assessment.

Johnnie reported that the recent OCDA Survey indicates that Library staff have a generally good impression of the Goodwill Committee and its work.

6. Upcoming Goodwill Committee Events, Fall 2005.

The Welcome Lunch will be in late September. Possible themes are the University's 150th Anniversary, and the 40th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. The Craft and Bake Sale will be in December, possibly Thursday the 1st, with the 9th as a snow date.

7. Next Meeting March 24, 2005.

Agenda items will be Fund raising, Cookbooks, Orientation for new student workers.
