1. Review of July 13, 2005 Minutes.

Minutes not yet compiled, we worked from Johnnie's notes.

2. Goodwill Committee Membership.

Johnnie announced new members Tonita Smith from ITD, Somesh Sood from EPSL, and Lisa Warner from Personnel.

3. Goodwill Committee Budget, Cards, and Memorials Status.

Johnnie discussed 3 memorial contributions, that totaled $105. One of them included a staff member's $15 extra donation to the $30 Goodwill Committee amount.

4. Planning for the September 22 Welcome Luncheon.

We discussed possible themes, and agreed that we should observe the University's 150th anniversary, with an emphasis on Library history. Ideas included pictures of past staff, with a "guess who" theme; and a display of old Library pictures from the Archives, possibly a slide show. The luncheon will also feature Dean Lowry's welcome to new staff. We discussed items needed, including tables, paper products, drinks, and kinds of food. We will need to check our storeroom next to Johnnie's office to see what we have enough of already. We sketched in tentative plans for this year, using the 2004 Welcome Lunch schedule.

5. Craft and Bake Sale plans.

We will have our annual Craft and Bake Sale on Thursday, December 1st, with Dec. 8 as a snow date. Joan Morris has agreed to coordinate craft participants again this year.

6. Announcements.

Johnnie is compiling a survey of student reactions to this past April's Student Appreciation Day.

7. Next Meeting Sept 1, 2005, McKeldin 6103.

Agenda will include plans for September 22 Welcome Luncheon.
