Creating and Editing Web Content on the Libraries Intranet
Students in this class will learn how to use the Libraries staff-only website. By the end of the class, students should be able to: locate the intranet and login to it; edit pages. Students will also develop an understanding of how calendar and news items work and be able to post such items according to the Libraries guidelines, and of how Group content is entered and where it appears on the site. . Participants in this workshop will learn how to create and edit content for the libraries public website. By the end of this course, participants should be able to: create new public web pages using WebSpinner and the Libraries templates; edit existing pages using WebSpinner; have a basic understanding of web best practices. This workshop is for Library staff who have not participated in the Sexual Harassment Prevention Program training on the UMD campus. This training is required for all staff, including student workers and Graduate Assistants. Updates or refresher classes for staff will be planned at least bi-annually or more frequently as dictated by changed law or policy. Please contact Dawn Borgardt (x4-2677, dsb@umd.edu) if you have any questions about your eligibility for this training. In this session, you will learn how to recognize and resolve sexual harassment, learn ways a victim of sexual harassment can document incidents of harassment, learn EEOC's definition of quid pro quo and hostile environment harassment, learn about employer liability in harassment cases, and learn about resolution procedures available at UM and the University's sexual harassment prevention policy.
