Diversity Brown Bag: Return to Nepal
Lauren Brown, Curator for the Archives and Manuscripts Department of the UM Libraries, will be showing slides taken during a trek in the Mount Everest region of Nepal in the fall of 1987. He will offer commentary on the Sherpa people who inhabit that part of Nepal, comparing and contrasting conditions in Nepal as they have evolved over the last 20 years (not entirely for the best), and reflecting back on this trekking experience from a distance now of 20 years. Please note that the time (12:15-1:15) is a little different than in the past and that we'll be meeting at Nonprint in Hornbake Library this time. You are welcome to bring along your (very discreetly hidden!) lunch. Come join Lauren on his "Return to Nepal!" Excel Intermediate
