University Human Resources (UHR) Training
- Instructor-Led Training
UHR offers a variety of in-person courses covering such topics as motivating employees, managing projects, thinking creatively, managing stress, writing technical materials, and negotiating. Visit http://www.training.umd.edu for a list of current classes.
- SkillSoft Electronic Training
Electronic courses are also available via the SkillSoft courseware package. In addition to providing assistance with computer-training applications, modules also exist for such topics as “Effective Interviewing”, “Effective Listening Skills”, and “Leading a Customer-Focused Team”.
To log in to SkillSoft, go to http://www.training.umd.edu and select "SkillSoft Web-Based Training". Once you have logged in, you may view the course catalog, or search by topic.
- James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership --
The Academy of Leadership is based within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The Academy sponsors a variety of programs, including a one-day experiential leadership programs.

LearnIT -- Also sponsored by the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, the LearnIT program is designed for staff interested in obtaining concentrated instruction in Web development skills and applications (e.g., Front Page, Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, etc.).

College of Library and Information
Services (CLIS) Continuing Education -- CLIS has offered courses for librarians in budgeting, web searching, and more. Future course offerings are currently being developed.

University Health Center's
Center for Health & Wellbeing -- is located in Room 0121 of
the Campus Recreation Center. The Center offers classes and programs in
Massage Therapy, Diet Analysis, Stress Reduction, and more.

Faculty Staff Assistance Program
-- provides professional services to UMCP faculty and staff on a variety
of mental health and workplace concerns.
