Welcome to New University of Maryland Libraries' Faculty

University Maryland Libraries' Orientation Program:

The New Faculty Orientation Program is designed to welcome and equip each new library staff member with information that will enhance their ability to perform assigned duties and responsibilities, and to ensure their success in the Library workplace. It also provides each new staff member the opportunity to get an overview of the Libraries’ concept of the learning organization, and its commitment to the principle of continuous improvement and life long learning.

The overall program includes the following areas of special interest to new staff:

  • Orientation to Payroll and Benefits
          (Enrollment for employment with Lupe Fernandes)
  • Orientation to assigned Division, Department, Unit, and Job
         (To be completed by immediate supervisor)
  • Overview of the Libraries’ mission, services, policies and procedures, programs, performance review, professional development opportunities and plans
    (To be completed by, Johnnie Love, Coordinator of Personnel Programs)
