"Keeping On The Web Track" -- A collection of annotated links to web resources compiled by OIT and organized into ten categories including "Layout and Design", "Graphics", and "Site Design and Architecture". *Web Hosting WebSpinner* Tutorial** -- Designed by OIT to provide an overview of the WebSpinner service. Tags Explained -- Part of the "HTML For Beginners" site, by Mike Bianchi. Describes the various HTML elements simply and concisely, with examples. HTML Tutorials Getting Started with HTML -- This tutorial covers basic HTML topics such as headings, paragraphs, emphasis, images, links, and the three types of lists. More Advanced [HTML] Features -- A continuation of the "Getting Started with HTML" tutorial, this resource covers more challenging HTML topics such as including special characters, creating tables, formatting text around images, and using an image as a hyperlink. Cascading Stylesheets Tutorials CSS Tutorial from the W3C -- This page offers a tutorial on using Cascading style Sheets, examples of CSS that you can adapt for your own pages, and a general reference guide of the elements. Complete CSS Guide -- This resource from Westciv bills itself as "a free online reference to every aspect of cascading style sheets." HTML Reference Guides Bare Bones Guide to HTML-- Lists every official HTML tag in common usage, plus Netscape and Microsoft extensions. Available for download in plain text or as a Zip file, or online in HTML format. Webmaster's Color Laboratory -- An interactive tool from VisiBone for selecting web-safe colors. Guide to Special Characters for Web Pages -- This chart shows how to put special characters, such as accent marks from European languages, on a Web page. HTML Validation W3C HTML Validation Service -- This free service provided by the World Wide Web Consortium enables you to submit the URL of your Web page and have your HTML code checked. The program points out and explains all HTML errors it finds. WebXACT -- "WebXACT is a free online service that lets you test single pages of web content for quality, accessibility, and privacy issues."
