Staff Education Coordinating Team (SECT) Minutes for March 9, 2004

Update on Spring 2004 Staff Learning Activities

Outcome: Staff Learning and Development Calendar (March-June) was provided.
Additions or corrections:
March 24 (10-11) and March 30 (11-12) Peer training, titled “Printing Problems and Solutions.”
Sessions will be held in MCK, 2109
April 7 (10-12) Movement workshop
Early June, Introductory Access training is planned

Everyone was asked to encourage staff to register for the various sessions scheduled throughout the spring.

Review of Results – Summer for Supervisors Survey

Outcome: Members discussed the survey and offered these observations:

  • Encourage more people to fill out the survey to get more feedback
  • It might be helpful to provide additional information about the sessions so that staff will have a clearer understanding of what to expect.
  • Build a transfer of training piece into each session
  • It would be helpful to ask participants additional questions such as why did you attend the session(s), what did you expect from the sessions and did the sessions meet your expectations.

Round Robin

ITD: Internal training and brown bag lunch sessions are taking place, which is creating a good positive note in the division.
