Facilitator: Maggie Saponaro, Notetaker: Denise Wright, Timekeeper: Sue Baughman
Present: Sue Baughman, Diane Harvey, Bob Kackley, Jenny Kinniff, Sue Koutsky, Liz McAllister Maggie Saponaro, Jane Williams, Denise Wright

Topic: Adjustments to the Agenda

Outcomes: No changes were made to the agenda. The March minutes were approved for posting on the SECT website.

Topic: SECT membership / Meeting Schedule

Outcomes: Charles Wright and Amrita Kaur have rotated off of SECT. An invitation has been extended to two LDI graduates to join SECT. We are still waiting to hear from them. Maggie passed out a schedule of future meetings through December 2008. It was decided to cancel the meeting in July. Maggie will distribute the role rotation schedule by email.

Topic: Learning Curriculum Evaluation Update

Outcomes: LEC has approved funding for the LC evaluation. Jane Williams wrote an article for the Library Matters blog titled, “Why Assess the Learning Curriculum” to give Libraries staff background and understanding of “why the Libraries will undertake an assessment of the Learning Curriculum.” Maggie Saponaro has worked with other SECT members to develop an RFP. Comments will be solicited from Jane Williams and Irma Dillon and then it will be presented to SECT. The RFP will be distributed to selected campus departments. Competitive bid is not required when the work will be done by a campus department.

Topic: Learning InterSECTion Update and TERP tips

Outcomes: SECT members agreed that the new format of submitting weekly postings to the Library Matters is good. One advantage is that the topic appears in the subject heading so it is more likely that the staff will click on it to read the article.

Jenny Kinniff distributed a list of TERP tip topics. The following have volunteered to write TERP tip articles: Diane Harvey – Google Earth/My Maps – due 7/25/08; Liz McAllister – topic TBD – due 8/30/08; Maggie Saponaro – Zotero – due 9/26/08; Bob Kackley – Meebo – due 10/31/08.

A suggestion was made to archive all TERP tips in an “online notebook” on the SECT website.
