Report on the Goodwill LuncheonLeader: Johnnie Love OutcomesWas tabled until next month. Update on Fall ProgramsLeader: Maggie S. Maggie briefed us on how the Fall Semester Learning Curriculum programs were going and how many were left still. OutcomesThe Thunderbird E-Mail (Mozilla) classes have waiting lists and have been so popular, that there will be a repeat class in January before the required 1/25/06 deadline to migrate from Netscape Mail over to Thunderbird for UM Library Staff. Update on Staff Training SurveysLeader: Maggie S. Last month, SECT reviewed a copy of the six-month follow-up survey questions as part of the Learning Curriculum’s Outcomes Based Evaluation process. The sample questions were sent to Irma Dillon and the Library Assessment Review Committee (LARC) for review, and they were accepted with minor revisions. OutcomesA template survey and cover letter will be drafted by Staff Learning in the coming weeks and shared with SECT at an upcoming meeting. The first survey will be sent in mid-January, 2006. Update on Staff Attendance DatabaseLeader: Jennifer Tate Jennifer is in the final stages of development of a database that would track staff member attendance for all SECT programs on a calendar basis for the benefit of individual library staff members as well as division leaders. OutcomesJennifer will have this database completed by the middle of December. Reports will be made available to individuals upon request, and a year-end summary will be sent to division directors. Structuring Computer TrainingLeader: Jane W. There was a discussion about having Learning Curriculum computer training classes given in the future more along the lines of function or by job application as opposed to being tool based as it is now, relatively speaking. OutcomesIt was agreed to keep it tool based, for the time being; but include an additional question regarding the specific use of computer training when the next computer training survey is developed in Fall 2007.
