Scope: This is a guide to indexing, abstracting and full-text sources for locating news. The print and electronic news sources listed below provide access to newspapers and news broadcasts. NEWSPAPER DATABASES

• AskZad/PANI (Pan-Arabic News Index)
  Full-text and/or full image of complete news and editorial content from over 435 print newspapers and magazines, 160 online editions, and 1,500 Internet news sources. Searchable in English or Arabic, with virtual Arabic keyboard.

• African-American Newspapers
  Online access to approx. 270 U.S. newspapers from more than 35 states - including many rare and historically significant 19th -century titles.

• Early American Newspapers Series
  Series one includes the full-text of 350,000 fully searchable issues from over 710 historical American newspapers. This online collection is based on Clarence S. Brigham's "History and Bibliography of American Newspapers, 1690-1820" and other authoritative bibliographies.

  Series two contains several hundred thousand fully searchable issues from more than 250 significant 18th- and 19th century newspapers from all 50 present states. Based primarily on the holdings of the American Antiquarian Society.

  Series three includes several hundred thousand fully searchable issues from more than 135 significant 19th- and 20th-century newspapers from all 50 present states. Based primarily on the holdings of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS), which houses a vast collection of American newspapers through 1876. Also includes titles from the acclaimed newspaper collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society and more than 90 other institutions.

• Ethnic Newswatch. 1990-.
  This is a bilingual database which includes over 200 publications of the American ethnic and minority press. Articles can be retrieved in both English and Spanish. Covers 1990-present.

• Factiva.
  Full-text articles from over 8,000 business sources, including national and international newspapers, magazines, trade journals and newswires.

• LexisNexis Academic.
  Provides the full-text of articles from national/regional/foreign newspapers, magazines, newsletters, transcripts from television and radio programs, biographical, business and legal information.
  

• World News Connection.
  This source provides translated and English-language news from non-U.S. media sources. The material in this database is provided to the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) by the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS).
