Marcel Ciampi was born in Paris on May 29, 1891. Instructed by Diémer at the Conservatoire, Ciampi toured frequently early in his career. He concentrated more on teaching as his career extended, becoming an Honorary Professor at the Conservatoire and head of piano classes at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. Ciampi died in 1980.
