Conference Location & Address
Welcome to the 34th Annual LOEX Conference! For the first time, the University of Maryland is hosting the LOEX Conference. It is also the first time that LOEX has been held on the east coast. The University of Maryland is located in College Park, Maryland. The conference will be held at the Marriott Inn & Conference Center, located at the west end of campus, at the intersection of Campus Drive, Adelphi Road and University Boulevard (also known as MD Route 193). The address and phone number are as follows:
Marriott Inn & Conference Center
3501 University Blvd. East
Adelphi, Maryland 20783
Reservation Desk: 301-985-7300
Print a copy of the address and map for taxi & bus drivers!
Friendly suggestion: There are several 'Marriott' hotels in the vicinity of College Park, MD so be sure to indicate to bus and taxi drivers that you want to go to the Marriott Inn and Conference Center at the address listed above.
For 150 years, the University of Maryland College Park had made its home in College Park, a community located 12 miles from Washington, D.C., 32 miles south of Baltimore, and 30 miles west of Annapolis, the state capital. College Park and its surrounding neighborhoods offer a variety of restaurants, nightspots, and retail shopping opportunities typical of a suburban environment. The closest Metro train station to campus is the College Park Metro Station. Not including the time it will take you to arrive at this Station, it will take about 20-25 minutes to travel by Metro train to downtown Washington, D.C.
Taxi fares from campus to downtown Washington, D.C. will vary widely but can cost approximately $15 to $20 one way. See the Planning Committee's suggested page on Things to Do for more information.

BY METRO TRAIN & BUS - FROM LOCAL AIRPORTS
The University of Maryland is served by three major airports -- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), and Washington Dulles International

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. All major airlines, including the discount airlines, serve the Washington, D.C. area, but most do not fly into all three airports. Using the code “WAS” in any online ticketing system (e.g., Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.) will usually bring up results for all three airports.
All local airports host a variety of rental car services. Rental cars hired at BWI and Washington Dulles International Airports will be marginally cheaper than those rented at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, but affordable rental cars are available at all three airports and in downtown Washington, D.C.
