Quick Guide to Ordering Scans, Photocopies and Microfilm

How do I obtain...Scans | Photocopies | Microfilm on Interlibrary Loan

Scans

  1. Please read carefully and complete the Use Agreement Form. If you have used our archival materials in the past, you do not need to fill out this form a second time.

  2. Please read and make sure that you understand the Special Collections Scanning Policy.

  3. Please fill out the Digital Reproduction Agreement Form to the best of your ability. The more detailed the information, the better we will be able to serve you.

  4. It is important to determine who owns the copyright to the material that you wish to scan. If you don't know, speak with the appropriate curator. Please complete the Scanning Request Order Form with the specifics regarding your order.

Photocopies

  1. Please read carefully and complete the Use Agreement Form . If you have used our archival materials in the past, you do not need to fill out this form a second time.

  2. Please read and make sure that you understand the Duplication of Materials policy.

  3. After selecting the materials that you wish to have photocopied, please fill out the Duplication Work Order Form.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Literary Manuscripts

  1. Please read the policy on Interlibrary Loan of Microfilm of Literary Manuscripts

  2. The researcher is required to fill out the Researcher Use Agreement for Microfilm of Literary Manuscripts

  3. The Special Collections Department at the borrower institution is also required to submit the Borrowing Institution Agreement for Use of Microfilm of Literary Manuscripts

  4. A member of the University of Maryland Libraries' Special Collections staff must complete the Interlibrary Loan Request for Microfilm
