A Saxophonist's Journey: Influences and Icons Chris Vadala: Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Concert

Friday, December 10, 2010 4:00 pm - Joseph and Alma Gildenhorn Recital Hall

In this concert/lecture entitled A Saxophonist's Journey: Influences and Icons, jazz professor Chris Vadala and graduates of his jazz program pay tribute to classical and jazz icons including Quincy Jones, Chuck Mangione, Wayne Shorter and Sonny Rollins.

Vadala was honored as one of the University’s Distinguished Scholar-Teachers for 2010 and presents this concert as part of his award.

Established in 1978 by the Office of Academic Affairs, the Distinguished Scholar-Teacher program honors a small number of faculty members each year who have demonstrated notable success in both scholarship and teaching. By bestowing these awards each year, the University reaffirms its commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. learn more about Professor Chris Vadala in the UM Libraries:
