Professor Bradford Gowen, Chair of the Piano division of the UM School of Music, has developed a program of pieces that illustrate the trends and experiments in music in early twentieth century America. As composers experimented with the many cultural styles that contributed to this country's musical landscape, they established a style that was uniquely American.
