UM Gamelan Saraswati Gamelan Mitra Kusuma I Nyoman Suadin, directorMonday, May 3, 2010 8:00 pm - Dekelboum Concert Hall The UM Gamelan Saraswati and the Gamelan Mitra Kusuma present a program entitled An Evening of Balinese Music, Dance & Shadow Puppetry. The gamelan ensembles will perform Balinese and Javanese percussion music accompanied by traditional Balinese dance. These performances are an integral part of the Balinese Hindu ceremonies honoring deities such as Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge and the arts, after which the UM gamelan ensemble is named.
