National Festival Orchestra: Fisch Conducts Mahler's Third

Closing out the momentous 25th season of the National Orchestral Institute and Festival is the world-renowned Israeli conductor Asher Fisch. He is well-known internationally among the great opera houses. Formerly, the music director of both the Vienna Volksoper and Israeli Opera, Fisch was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Seattle Opera in 2007, appearing each season there as well as frequent appearances throughout Europe and United States.
Notable for his interpretation of Wagner, Fisch will be tackling Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 3 in D Minor. Accompanying him in this performance is Bavarian-born European opera sensation mezzo-soprano Stefanie Irányi. She achieved acclaim and awards across the world for interpretations of Hayden and Handel among several others.
