StepAfrika!

StepAfrika! will be performing at the Atlas Performing Arts Center from June 21st-July1st, 2012.

This internationally known dance company, based right here in Washington, D.C.,  will showcase their latest production Nxt/Step. StepAfrika is dedicated to teaching the tradition of stepping and the culture influence this performing art has on audiences around the world.

Echos of Africa in Folk Songs of the Americas by Beatrice Landeck, 1961, follows the history of African Music throughout the America's. The book not only provides a historical overview of African music but includes scores of music as well. Book is available through UMD's African American Music Reference database available through Research Port.
