New arrangements of traditional melodies and original songs by members of the band draw upon jazz, classical, world beat, rock and other musical genres to create a unique sound, which has earned the Alexandria Kleztet fifteen awards from the Washington Area Music Association.These UM library resources explore the history of klezmer and its diverse musical influences, including Arab, African, Latin, Balkan, jazz and punk:
