University of Maryland Libraries launch “Survive Finals Week” campaign
Organize events and materials to promote successful final exam experience
COLLEGE PARK, Md., Dec. 3, 2012 – University of Maryland Libraries announce “Survive Finals Week,” a campaign to promote student success and health December 13-19. University Libraries collaborate with campus organizations and local businesses to offer free events and giveaways for students.
Drew Blais, junior communication major and video assistant for University Libraries, leads the campaign with a student perspective about final exam stressors.
“I have yet to meet a student who enjoys studying for final exams,” Blais said. “Although we can’t eliminate exams, we can create a safe and inviting study environment.”
Scheduled events are shown below.
Non-scheduled events include 24-hour self-guided meditation, prize giveaways and a Twitter photo contest. Sponsors include Eppley Recreation Center, University Health Center, University Student Judiciary and Bookholders.
