Open Access Week is coming up on October 21-27
As part of the Libraries’ celebration of Open Access Week, 21-25 October, we
are offering two workshops. AUTHOR RIGHTS
publish a journal article, you sign a copyright agreement. Do you know what
you're agreeing to when you sign it? Different journals have different
policies. How can you negotiate your contract to make the most of your rights
as a scholar, teacher, and author? Come learn how to preserve your rights to
reproduce, distribute, and display the work you create.
22 October 10:00 am – 11:00 am & Thursday 24 October 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
COPYRIGHT AND THESES AND DISSERTATIONS
Do you plan to include third-party materials in your thesis or
dissertation? If so, do you need to request permission from the copyright
holder or does it fall under the Fair Use exemption of the Copyright Law? This
session covers best practices and useful strategies to help make that
determination, as well as how to protect the copyright of your own research.
Offered Monday, 21 October 11:00 – noon & Wednesday, 23 October 10:00
am – 11:00 am
