Equipment
Nonprint Media Services provides the following equipment free of charge for a two-day loan period to faculty, staff, students and alumni* of the University of Maryland at College Park. To request items, use our Equipment Loan Form.
*Alumni can borrow equipment for two day loans from the UM Libraries if they are either current members of the UM Alumni Association or the Friends of the Libraries Borrowers Program. For more information on this, see the alumni website. If you are not a card carrying member of either group, you could still use the machine here in Nonprint Media Services without problem with a Photo ID such as a drivers license as a Special Borrower.
Unfortunately, due to budget constraints we are unable to provide video projectors at this time. The Stamp now has a video camera check-out program. Free to any student, faculty or staff. Easy to use cameras, just point and press record. Download your videos to your favorite video editor and make movie magic. Here is their website
Please return items in the same condition as received. Items returned late will be subject to a $5.00 per day, per item late fee.

If you need to transcribe a tape, we have machines equipped for this. Our standard cassette players should not be used for transcribing as it can damage them.
Normally the loan period for our equipment is 2 days. However during times of heavy demand, usage of transcribers may be restricted to "in house only."
