Nonprint Media Services Library

Circulation Policies

Nonprint materials--videos, films and other audiovisual materials--do not circulate beyond the Nonprint Media Service area. Faculty, staff, and students may borrow most materials for use in a teaching situation outside the library by arranging an External Loan. External loan time periods are arranged depending on the projected use of each media item requested. External loans for students making class presentations are limited to the actual day of the presentation, with pickups scheduled just before class and returns scheduled immediately after class.

Items not returned on time are subject to overdue fines of $5.00 per day per item. Items removed from the area without permission are subject to a Denial of Use fee of $21.00. If you would like to appeal a fine, see the online Billing Appeals Form.

Audiovisual equipment may be borrowed for use outside the library by faculty, staff, graduate, and undergraduate students. A reservation request for a Special Permission Loan of equipment and materials should be made at least one week in advance of the date it is needed.

To reserve an external loan or audiovisual equipment, please determine the day you would like to use the materials and the pick up and return dates. You may contact Nonprint Media Services to reserve the video by using phone, email, or Request forms .
