History
The Nonprint Media Services Library was one of the first of its kind at any research institution. Since it first opened in 1973, it has been at the forefront of technological advances for university libraries, and a model for media libraries around the globe. More than thirty years later, we are proud to dedicate this new space housing the most current technologies for audio and visual materials.
In the summer of 2005, Nonprint Media Services moved from the 4th floor of Hornbake Library to the current location on the ground floor of Hornbake Library, under the plaza.
We now provide access to information in most film and video formats, including more than 500 hours of video-on-demand programming to the campus through the Films@UM digital research collection.
