Nonprint Home > Technical Services Technical ServicesAcademic Campus CableNonprint is the head end for the Academic Campus Cable System, which distributes local Baltimore/Washington, DC area television signals to most classrooms and some offices on campus. These channels include CNN, Headline News, Bloomburg, the Weather Channel, C-SPAN, and NASA Select. Please note: channel 48 will show CNBC and channel 49 will show MSNBC until the Olympics is over. Off-the-Air Recording Services Nonprint Media Services will make temporary off-the-air recordings of broadcast programming for the educational purposes of the faculty and staff of the University where permitted by law. The recordings remain the property of Nonprint Media Services until erased. Off-the-air programs cannot be kept indefinitely, or played over the Dial Access System or the Campus Video Distribution system, without the expressed written permission of the copyright holder. All recordings are done in compliance with The Guidelines for Off-Air Taping for Educational Institutions, also known as the Kastenmeier Guidelines. To arrange for off-the-air recordings, call Nonprint Media. Satellite Downlink Support Nonprint Media Services has several satellite dishes capable of receiving KU and C-Band, analog and digital satellite transmissions. Programs may be distribued on the campus cable system or videotaped when legal by Nonprint's copyright policy. Individuals requesting satellite downlinks are responsible for all fees charged by the program provider.
