  • Voices of the Vanquished: Censored Print Publications from Postwar Japan, 1945-1949
  • Inspired by Embracing Defeat: Japan in the Wake of World War II by John Dower, Professor of History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, this exhibit of materials from the Gordon W. Prange Collection explores the postwar period from various vantage points—from politics to culture to everyday life.

  • Rebuilding a Nation: Japan in the Immediate Postwar Years, 1945-1949
  • This exhibit of selected Prange Collection photographs, magazines, newspapers, documents, and books reflects the state of Japan during the first four years of the Occupation. The exhibit was initially displayed in Hornbake Library on the University of Maryland, College Park campus, February 22 - May 24, 2002.
