The departmental service of providing duplications of Prange Collection materials for researchers
facilitates long-distance access to its holdings and satisfies the requests of visiting researchers. In
general, a fee of $5.00 is added to duplication requests initiated by phone, FAX, email, or regular mail.
To initiate an order, a researcher must complete a
Duplication Work Order Form and send it to the Prange Collection by FAX, email, or regular mail. Duplications will not be released until payment has been received. Check
and money orders should be made payable to the "University of Maryland" and mailed to the Gordon W.
Prange Collection, Hornbake Library, Room 4200, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742. Credit cards may be used with orders of $5.00 or more, by faxing (+1 301 314 2447) or mailing the Credit Card Form to the Manager of the Prange Collection.
Researchers will be required to complete and sign a Notification of Intent to Publish Reproductions of Prange Materials, if the
duplicate copies have been acquired for publication, broadcast, or other commercial use.

Prange Collection staff makes duplications of Prange Collection original materials. Researchers may
NOT make duplications of these materials on their own initiative. Requests will be handled as promptly as
possible. It may be necessary to mail duplications to a researcher after the research visit has been
completed.
The fee for duplications completed by staff is $1.00 per page. Duplication requests are normally
limited to 200 pages a month per researcher. The Curator or Manager of the Collection may waive the 200-page limit
if they determine that a request is justified and if there is sufficient staffing to complete it.
There will be a $0.75 per page surcharge for duplication orders in excess of the 200-page per month
limit. The Curator or Manager has the discretion to waive the surcharge.

As for newspapers and magazines, duplications are not made of original Prange materials. Patrons may make duplications of the magazines and newspapers from the microforms of those collections. A microform reader/printer is available in the East Asia Collection, 4th Floor McKeldin Library, for that purpose. The microforms are also downloadable in a PDF format to a USB flash drive. Patrons must provide their own flash drive.
