Job Description
- Planning and development
- Works with Assistant Dean for OD, Personnel Programs Coordinator, Staff Education Coordinating Team (SECT) and others to specify content, length, trainers (or instructors or speakers), frequency, etc. for each current or new module in the Learning Curriculum.
- Leads Staff Education Coordinating Team (SECT) - an advisory, coordinating group on staff learning and development, which has representatives from Diversity Committee, Information Literacy Team, Information Technology Division, Organizational Development, Peer Training Collective, Staff Learning and Development, and Technical Services.
- Helps train trainers/teachers from the library staff and supports their ongoing activity and development.
- Identifies and secure outside trainers, instructors or consultants as activities warrant.
- Plans publicity and outreach efforts for the workshops or other activities.
- Oversees Web site for Staff Learning office and Learning Curriculum.
- Plans, monitors and reports on expenses of Learning Curriculum supported by Libraries’ operating budget.
- Seeks external sources of funding to support special initiatives or meet special needs.
- Implementation

Assures that activities take place as planned.
- Handles logistics of learning activities as needed, assuring that trainers and learners have what they need at time of activity.
- Teaches workshops and leads or facilities other activities.
- Sees that databases of participating staff are maintained.
- Assures that university- or library-mandated training (e.g., sexual harassment prevention) are offered regularly and that all staff attend over time.
- Evaluation
- Assures that each activity is evaluated by participants and that evaluations are compared across time.
- Participates in needs assessment for new offerings under Learning Curriculum auspices.
- Collaborates on measuring outcomes of learning and development activities of staff.
- Reports and reviews findings with all concerned.
- Plans new activities based on findings and recommendations.
