NEW COURSE RESERVES SYSTEM FOR COLLEGE PARK FACULTY & STUDENTS IS AVAILABLE!
The Course Reserves materials are usually required readings that have been requested by the instructor for
specific courses. College Park Libraries are using the course reserves system, which is accessible through the University's
ELMS course management system (powered by Blackboard). The course reserves integration with ELMS eliminates the need for
faculty to distribute class passwords to the students. It also allows faculty to place course reserve requests and/or add
items, track the status of their requests online, and receive automatic emails when the reserve materials are available.
The following information and documents are available for CP faculty and students at
Course Reserves
Processing course reserve requests depends upon the availability of the materials in the library. On some occasions,
it requires that the library purchase these requested materials. Cataloging and processing materials for reserves also takes
considerable time. Recalling and processing charged out materials for course reserves takes a little more than two weeks.
To avoid delays in accessing course reserves materials, please submit course reserve requests at least two weeks in advance
to ensure the availability of materials at the beginning of the semester. If you have any questions or need assistance,
please call Madhu Singh at (301) 738-6223 or email her at madhus@umd.edu.
