Finding Primary Sources
A number of print and online access tools exist to assist researchers in locating primary sources at the University of Maryland Libraries. Please note that no one source completely describes our holdings. View our video tutorial for more information on how to search for primary sources using the University of Maryland's online catalog.
On campus, many primary source materials are found within the departments collectively known as special collections. But primary source materials from other institutions are also on microfilm in McKeldin Library. Information about these materials may be found on individual department websites, in the Libraries' Catalog or in a database called ArchivesUM. WorldCatUM is a global database that allows you to see not only University of Maryland materials, but also items located at libraries around the world. The search box below will search WorldCatUM.
