Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Illustrated by Willy Pogány.

New York: E. P. Dutton and Company, 1929.

Hungarian-born illustrator Pogány (born Vilmos Andreas Pogány) is famous for his “flapper Alice,” a radical departure from all previous depictions. British Carroll collector and author John Davies said that Pogány offers “the first really original interpretation since Tenniel.”
