Borrow Equipment

Equipment Loan Program

UMD Libraries has a variety of general-use equipment, from calculators to projectors and plenty of things in between! Our general-use equipment is first-come, first-serve and typically cannot be borrowed overnight or reserved in advance. To borrow general-use equipment, bring your UMD ID and visit the Tech Desk (McKeldin 2nd floor), the STEM Library service desk, or the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library service desk.

Need to borrow items for a longer period of time, or looking for specialty equipment? Explore the options below to learn about our long-term use laptops, media production equipment, equipment for studying, health, and wellness, and more. To reserve long-term equipment, please submit the request form at least 24 hours in advance of your need.

Camera (Nikon Coolpix), We have several models of Nikon Coolpix cameras, include the 16 MP Nikon B500 Coolpix with a 40x optical NIKKOR zoom lens with 80x dynamic zoom with 3-inch LCD display. Full HD 1080p video recording 30fps, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC connectivity. The 16 MP Nikon L830 Coolpix with a 34x zoom NIKKOR lens, a 68x dynamic full 1080p HD video, and contains stereo sound. And the 14.1 megapixel Nikon Coolpix L120 camera with 21x NIKKOR wide angle optical zoom lens.  Great for still pictures. Loan period 8 hours.

Tripod (Slik Sprint Pro II), Slik Sprint Pro II tripods are among the on-demand production equipment offered at the TLC. They are great travel tripods and have a maximum height of 64”. The multi-angle leg locks on this tripod make it perfect for filming on steps or in other uneven areas around campus. Loan period 8 hours.
