Founding Developer and Web Content Creator
Kelley O'Neal, Ph.D.
As the GIS Librarian at McKeldin, Kelley was a critical developer of the GIS Spatial Data Center. Additionally, Kelley was a main creator for our web presence. Kelley holds a Ph.D. in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland. She has 17 years of experience using GIS and Remote Sensing in academic, federal, and private industry settings, including agricultural, ecological, fire, carbon monitoring, and defense applications.

Julia holds an MS in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland. She is familiar with Python, R, and the ArcGIS Platform.
Brittany de Gail
Brittany holds a B.A. in Government and Politics and Chinese from the University of Maryland. She is interested in environmental politics and international relations.
Logan is a senior Environmental Science and Policy major with a concentration in Marine and Coastal Management and minor in Meteorology. She is exploring wildlife biology, remote sensing, GIS, and marine conservation as career paths and has worked for USFWS, NOAA, and, currently, NASA. Logan is familiar with ENVI, ArcGIS, and R.
Geospatial Project Coordinator
Reshma holds a Master's in Public Policy from the School of Public Policy, University of Maryland, College Park. She is familiar with STATA, GIS and works at the intersection of spatiotemporal aspects of public policy. She has over 5 years of experience in corporate, non-governmental and academic set-ups.
Social Media Coordinator
Lisa holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland. She is interested in environmental applications of GIS and remote sensing.
Qi holds a M.A. in Geography and GIS certificate from The George Washington University. Originally from Beijing, China, he is equipped with skills like image processing of remote sensing images, spatial statistics, Python & R programming, and transportation modeling to apply on various fields such as transportation, public health, urban geography, or any other field requiring heavy amounts of GIS data analysis work to create an actionable, valuable knowledge product.
Daniel is a University of Maryland senior, majoring in GIS and Computer Cartography. He is experienced in programming in Python, C, and Java, as well as using ArcMap/ArcPy, and PCI Geomatica. He is interested in strengthening and expanding his programming and GIS/remote sensing skills to work with intelligence agencies on various projects.
Khashayar interned with the center during the senior year of his GIS major in the Department of Geographical Sciences. He is interested in GIS computer modeling and project management.
Wenwen Fan, Ph.D.
Statistical and GIS Consulting Graduate Assistant
Wenwen was a Biostatistics graduate student in the School of Public Health. She has experience with survey sampling, longitudinal data analysis, and categorical data analysis. She also has extensive data analysis experience using SAS, STATA, and R.
Alex majored in GIS and Computer Cartography at the University of Maryland. He is skilled in Python, R, Java, C, ArcPy, Anaconda, ArcGIS pro, and ENVI.
Paul interned with the center as a GIS major in the Department of Geographical Sciences during the Spring 2016 semester.
Michelle is a senior majoring in GIS. She has experience using ArcGIS and QGIS. She is interested in urban issues including public space, parks, and sustainable economic development and how GIS can be applied towards it.
Nathenael is a senior majoring in GIS and Environmental Science & Technology. He has experience working with ArcGIS, QGIS, and AutoCAD. He is interested in using GIS to manage stormwater utilities and integrating natural systems with the constructed environment.
Siyao is a geography major with a concentration in GIS, and also has a minor in Spanish. He is interested in human geography, history, and other social sciences, and in applying GIS techniques in those fields. He has experience working with ArcGIS, QGIS, and PCI Focus.

Elizabeth is a senior undergrad student at the University of Maryland with a major in Environmental Science and Technology and a minor in GIS. She has experience using ArcGIS and Geomatica Focus, and she is excited to use her skills in GIS and Remote sensing to help others understand the impacts of climate change.
Nhu completed a B.S. in GIS at the University of Maryland. He has experience using GIS, Remote Sensing, and Python, and used GIS for an internship at UMD Facilities and Management to manage and update the geodatabase for buildings and residence halls. Nhu also worked on a project at FM to change the campus map’s building from 2D to 3D using ArcGIS Pro.
Yini majored in GIS at the University of Maryland. She has experience with Web GIS, Python, and ArcGIS. She is interested in combining her computer science skills and GIS knowledge together to solve real world problems.
Bongnwi, who is from Cameroon, interned with the center during his senior year as a Geographical Information Systems major. He has computer programming experience and is interested in computer modeling and data analysis for GIS.
