New violin faculty artist Irina Muresanu, and viola faculty artist Katherine Murdock join the University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra for the performance of a program entitled Alternative Energy. Professors Muresanu and Murdock will perform Mozart's brilliant double concerto, Sinfonia Concertante. This program will also feature Mason Bates's Alternative Energy, a time-travelling montage that conveys the rise and fall of our industrialized world through hip-hop and techno beats, folksy fiddlin, and junkyard percussion..

This recording of works by UMD theory and composition professor Mark Edwards Wilson brings together faculty artist Katherine Murdock and the other members of the Left Bank Quartet (David Salness and Sally McLain, violins; Evelyn Elsing, cello) for a performance of his Time Variations.
