Researchers using special collections should register for account

Beginning August 1, Special Collections and University Archives librarians will begin using an online management tool to streamline requests for materials and services.

After registering for an account, you will be able to:

  • request materials directly from the online catalog/finding aid,
  • view current/past requests, and
  • submit scanning/photocopy requests from any computer.

Requesting materials in advance and completing use-agreement forms online will save you time in the reading room and allow you to better monitor requests.

By automating registration, collection retrieval requests, statistics gathering, and duplication requests, the system also helps librarians better understand your needs.

Special collections are materials owned by the University Libraries that because of their rarity or format are distinguished from the general collections and have different policies regarding their use. Most special collections and primary research materials are housed in Hornbake Library, where researchers may use materials in the Maryland Room, or in the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library.

Sign up for an account and start using the new system today.
