We are proud to announce the Academic Library Advancement and Development Network (ALADN) awarded the Libraries' FrankenTerp Challenge with Award of Excellence, Best in Show and Award of Excellence, Social Media at its 2019 conference.

Designed to introduce students to key library resources and highlight Frankenreads UMD, a campus celebration of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", the challenge invited students to connect on social media and follow the adventures of FrankenTerp, a mash-up of Shelley's fictional monster and UMD's mascot, Testudo.

Kristy McDermott, Assistant Director of External Relations, accepted the awards on behalf of the University Libraries at the ALADN conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
