Relocation of DVD, VHS, LaserDisc, and audiocassette collections complete
The Libraries are very pleased to announce that the media collection has a new home in McKeldin Library!
Blu-ray discs, DVDs, VHS cassettes, laserdiscs, and audio cassettes within the McKeldin Library media collection are now fully available for library users to borrow again. As the media collection area is not open to the public, it is recommended that library users wishing to borrow these materials place a request in the catalog. Library employees will retrieve items from this collection and make them available for pick up at the Library Services Desk in McKeldin at 3-4 scheduled times per day. Employees at the Library Services Desk can also retrieve items for users on the fly, as needed. Please note, some legacy media formats (16 mm and Umatics) remain unavailable for the time being while the Libraries determine how to best preserve and provide access to these materials going forward.
We thank you for your cooperation and patience. We understand the difficulties and concerns that inability to fully use collections might have caused. Many library employees contributed to the successful move of this collection on a very tight timeline, and we are very happy about such a quick resolution of the issue. Please contact Daniel Mack, Associate Dean of Libraries, at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
