Coronavirus update for faculty
This is an update on the Libraries' operations during the coronavirus pandemic. The University of Maryland Libraries is closely monitoring the University's evolving community guidance regarding the novel coronavirus ("COVID-19"). In response to the newest campus guidelines and policies, from Wednesday, March 18 through March 29 the Libraries are moving all operations into the online environment. All libraries on campus will be closed for any in-person needs. As it stands now, from March 29 through April 10, only McKeldin Library will be open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm for in-person needs. However, this situation will be closely monitored and can be subject to change depending on the situation. Updates will be posted here as the situation evolves.
We will still be able to work with you and help you and your students with research, learning and teaching needs, including library instructional services, research/information services, document delivery, ILL services, and much more. Due to the new guidelines until March 29, these services will be restricted to e-formats, e-resources and online access only. We hope this will not create too much inconvenience during this difficult time, and we are here to help in helping you identify substitute resources if needed. We can do much of this work in an online environment and telework.
We have created several online resources to guide you through the process, including our Coronavirus Updates and Resources page, and the list of resources that we moved online. However, please do not hesitate to contact your subject librarian for any library-related issues. Subject specialist directory both by subject or by name of the librarian is available here. We will get through this together.
