Dear UMD students, faculty, staff, and community,
My library colleagues and I have heard from many of you who are eager for the Libraries’ physical collections and in-person services to be available again. We look forward to relaunching our on-site services and access as well. As of the date of this message, we are waiting for UMD Administration to approve our plans before we can move forward.
Our overall plan, summarized in the chart below, is to resume on-site, in-person library operations and services in a phased-in manner that will permit essential access to the Libraries’ physical resources, services, and programs, while maximizing safety for library users and library staff and faculty.
Please note that the dates shown on the chart are tentative at this time. If all goes well, however, and if we receive final approval from UMD administration as expected, we plan to move to Phase 1, Preparation, on July 6, 2020. Thank you for what I hope will be your continued patience and support as we prepare for and relaunch on-site library use and access over the next few months. If you have any questions, please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
