Commencement Programs

The University of Maryland Libraries has digitized university commencement programs from 1922 to present as part of its participation in Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative, as well as several from its earliest days as Maryland Agricultural College. Commencement ceremonies were held primarily annually until 1970, with the notable exception of the World War II period. After 1970 commencement ceremonies were held bi-annually, with the familiar May-December schedule beginning in 1973. Each program may be downloaded as an Adobe PDF file, and is name or keyword searchable. Commencement programs that are not available online can be viewed in the Maryland Room of Hornbake Library. Questions? Contact the University Archives. For other digital materials relating to UM Commencements, please visit University AlbUM, keyword 'commencement'.
