Kelley holds a Ph.D. in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland. She has 17 years of experience using GIS and Remote Sensing in academic, federal, and private industry settings, including agricultural, ecological, fire, carbon monitoring, and defense applications.

Jim holds a B.S. in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland. He completed his career at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) and now splits his time between the University of Maryland and the U.S. Census Bureau managing map collections.

Qi holds a M.A. in Geography and GIS certificate from The George Washington University. Originally from Beijing, China, he is equipped with skills like image processing of remote sensing images, spatial statistics, Python & R programming, and transportation modeling to apply on various fields such as transportation, public health, urban geography, or any other field requiring heavy amounts of GIS data analysis work to create an actionable, valuable knowledge product.

Wenwen is a Biostatistics graduate student in the School of Public Health. She has experience with survey sampling, longitudinal data analysis, and categorical data analysis. She also has extensive data analysis experience using SAS, STATA, and R.

GIS events are held in McKeldin 6101 located on the 6th floor of McKeldin Library. The laboratory can host up to 35 individuals.

The GIS Laboratory was recently updated in 2016 with Dell OptiPlex machines featuring 16 GB memory and 4K Touch LCDs with articulated stands. All computers have the following software packages:
