UMD Libraries invites users to preview new search platform

Test out the Libraries' new search experience now through April 26 and share your feedback

As previously announced, the University of Maryland Libraries will move to a new library search platform on May 23, 2024. Now through Friday, April 26, library users are invited to preview the new system while it is under development and provide feedback to help improve the tool prior to the launch.

Work on the new interface is ongoing, so users may notice changes throughout the preview period. Some features, such as requesting items and placing holds, are not available in this test environment. Users should also be aware that the data in the test system is from October 2023 and therefore is not a complete snapshot of our collections.

The new searching/discovery service, which replaces Classic Catalog and WorldCat UMD, is an interface that will streamline access to UMD Libraries resources and scholarly research. Library users will benefit from enhanced features to more easily manage loans, requests, and citations. Learn more about the transition to the new system, including key dates that may affect you and frequently asked questions.

For questions about the new system or support accessing the preview site, please contact the Primo Discovery Implementation Working Group (lib-pdiwg@umd.edu).
