Carrels (Open)
Study carrels #3207-3261 are open to all library users on a first-come, first-served basis. These rooms cannot be reserved.
Activities: Individual Study, Virtual Meeting / Interview
Capacity: 1 person

Carrels (Reservable)
These spaces for quiet individual study can be reserved for 1 hour slots with a maximum of 4 hours per day. Reservations can be made from one week to 2 hours in advance. Reservable study carrels are open to all University of Maryland-affiliated library users.

Faculty Office
Reserve | Find it on the Floor Map (Room # 7233)
Only for faculty and graduate students who work as instructors. A large desk with ergonomic chair allows for quiet, individual work. There is also a small table and additional chairs for those who need to complete group work.

Focus Room (McKeldin First Floor)
This study carrel is located in the front wing of McKeldin Library on the first floor past the computer lab. The Focus Room is available for a 4 hour reservation. Reservations can be made from one week to 2 hours in advance.

Graduate Student Study Area
Find it on the Floor Map (Room # 3100A)
A quiet and comfortable space for graduate students and student veterans (regardless of status) to study or work individually. Request access and swipe your UMD ID card to enter.

McKeldin Alcoves
There are two alcoves in the back wing of these floors (one on the north side and one on the south side). Nestled between carrels and book stacks, these alcoves are available for quiet study on a first come, first served basis. Each alcove contains 2 semi-enclosed study pods.

McKeldin Elevator Lobbies (Front Wing)
Cozy spaces directly outside the main elevators to quietly relax or for individual study. They contain comfy chairs, some small tables, and two computers.
