CV

Milan Budhathoki is a certified geographic information system professional (GISPⓇ). He has more than 8 years of experience working in the GIS field that ranges from local/state government to academic settings. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, he worked for the University of Notre Dame, Indiana for 7 years where he provided GIS service in a diverse field of research and teaching.

He is very excited to bring geospatial skills to the UMD community in research, consulting, and teaching. He is specialized in GIS analysis, spatial data management, web GIS and server applications, geospatial big data analytics and remotely sensed data processing. He is also FAA certified remote pilot to fly sUAS (small unmanned aerial system) aka drone to capture aerial imagery for research.

Jim Nealis, Maps Specialist, Volunteer

Jim holds a B.S. in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland. He completed his career at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) and now splits his time between the University of Maryland and the U.S. Census Bureau managing map collections.

Facilities

The GIS Laboratory in McKeldin 4120 is outfitted with 2018 with Dell OptiPlex machines featuring 16 GB memory. All computers have the following software packages:
