Request Special Collections and University Archives from Severn Library
While searching the Libraries' online catalogs, you might discover a book or periodical that is located at Severn Library, our high-density storage facility. If that item belongs to Special Collections or University Archives, you must place a request for the item using your Special Collections Account. These items, like all items in Special Collections and University Archives, do not circulate.
The requested item(s) will be available for you to use in the Maryland Room of Hornbake Library 4 business days after placing your request.
Steps to request materials:
- Click the link titled "Request from Special Collections"
- Follow the prompts to log in or create your Special Collections Account.
- At the bottom of the page click the calendar button and choose the date you would like to visit the Maryland Room, keeping in mind that it takes 4 business days for items to be delivered. Click "Submit Request."
You will receive an email notification when the item has been delivered to the Maryland Room.
You can also check the status of your request using your Special Collections Account. When your items are identified as "Item On Hold in Offsite Area," they are available for use in the Maryland Room.
